Hamish and Ben combined decades of experience managing New Zealand’s rugged environments, delivering practical, effective pest control solutions. Today, Longridge operates across the South Island, trusted by regional councils, government agencies, and private landowners to control a pest problem, whether it’s possums, insects, or other invasive species. “Langridge Contracting have been engaged for Bennetts wallaby control by private landowners and to Environment Canterbury (ECan) under contract for several years within South Canterbury.

This control has involved shooting operations day and night (utilising thermal equipment) and extensive work using dog/rifle teams. This work is often in remote and steep topography.

Langridge staff operate using modern, good quality and well-maintained equipment and vehicles appropriate to this task delivery. They have a very good safety record and comprehensive procedures and policies in place, several times they have proven that their H&S procedures are known and adhered to by staff. Regular annual audits have shown high commitment to maintaining records and that health, safety and wellbeing is ingrained as part of team culture. “We employed Longridge Contracting last year to carry out culling of some deer in our
newly planted pine blocks and on green feed paddocks at our farm. We were very
happy with their response time to get the job done as it worked in with our farming
operations. Their planning of how to attack the blocks was thorough and their effort they
put in to retrieve the deer to ensure nothing was wasted as the blocks were hard to
access was appreciated. The health and safety (firearms and vehicle wise as we are a
